IU trustees look at background checks: "A proposal by the University Faculty Council would limit background checks for academic employees to those who handle university funds or work with “vulnerable populations.”
But some trustees argue that faculty should be scrutinized as closely as people the university hires to cook meals and sweep floors."

Just spent some time reading some of these posts while conducting some research on various free background checks sites. Even though it isn’t exactly what I was looking for, I think your readers might still be interested in reading my article on free background checks. I try to answer the question: Are there really free background checks sites? Even though it's not what I am searching for, I'm glad I stopped long enough to read -- thanks.
